You’re ready to answer the call. Now what?
ANSWERING THE CALL IS AS SIMPLE AS 1…2…3
- Fill out the application. The application takes about 10 minutes to complete. We truly review every short answer response, so please take your time when explaining your service background and what motivates you to apply. See the schedule below to determine the best fit; you'll have the opportunity to select your top two session preferences within the application.
- Upon acceptance, fill out an enrollment form. You should hear back from the team about your application status within two weeks. Once accepted, you will need to fill out an enrollment form that takes less than 2 minutes to complete. This form confirms your spot in the program.
- Attend all Answering the Call programming to graduate and receive your leadership development certification. As a participant, you will join an incredible group of servant leaders in your chosen session. To be able to graduate from Answering the Call and receive the full benefits of the material and discussion, you need to attend the full set of programming, whether you are participating in the five-week sessions or the one-day sessions. (We do provide make-up sessions, if needed, see ATC FAQs for more info). There is no pre-work, but written reflection exercises will need to be completed between each five-week session or on the day of the one-day session.

Marita is the Founder and President of CIVICALLY, Inc., a nonprofit driving community and economic revitalization in Wilkinsburg, where she also served as Councilwoman. Recognized with the Governor’s Award for Local Government Excellence, she has led initiatives in civic engagement, health, and urban development while also teaching as an adjunct professor at the University of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Mercer is an educator, leadership consultant, and founder of Lead My Heart, with over 16 years of experience teaching and mentoring across secondary, higher education, and organizational settings. A certified life coach, she combines her research-driven expertise and professional experience to guide executive leaders, while also serving on numerous civic and community boards.

Tracey, the 2020–2021 Georgia Teacher of the Year, is an educator and child advocate dedicated to advancing educational equity and amplifying student and teacher voices. With experience as a teacher, instructional coach, and adjunct professor, she continues to mentor educators and champion student-centered policies through her work with nonprofits and national advocacy organizations.
