Biography
Ashely Dickerson currently serves as a Senior Program Manager with the National Center for Youth Law, with the FosterEd Arizona initiative. She is a proud Arizona native, living and working where she was raised, and attended the University of Arizona.

While at the University of Arizona, Ashely studied Social, Behavioral & Human Understandings with an emphasis on Adolescents, Community Development and Education Policy. She also earned a minor in Africana Studies and Sociology. In 2021, Ashely earned the Certified Nonprofit Professional credential after dedicating over 13 years to the nonprofit sector both nationally and locally.

Improving educational outcomes along with civic engagement and advocacy are at the core of her efforts. She is passionate about creating an equitable and just education system, which has led her to proudly serve 4 terms of AmeriCorps service as a Public Ally, a City Year corps member, a VISTA, and as a National service member. Ashely is passionate about children, youth, and their families and has extensive experience serving as a teacher, mentor, coach, community leader, and facilitator.

Ashely is also dedicated to creating and sustaining a pipeline of elected women of color leaders on local school boards. She previously served as a campaign manager for a local school board candidate which resulted in a campaign victory, as the first African American woman to serve on that board. Ashely is currently serving as a campaign manager once again for a first-time local school board candidate.

Ashely’s commitment to civic engagement led her to participate in Answering the Call and later as a cohort facilitator for ATC. Ashely also engaged in Staffing School and now proudly serves on the Alumni Executive Council.
