Cristina Flores

Director of Partnerships & Growth

As the Director of Partnerships and Growth, Cristina’s mission is to grow the servant leadership pipeline by building strong relationships with partner organizations. Cristina is a proud AmeriCorps alum who served three years as a bilingual early literacy AmeriCorps tutor at Literacy First in Austin, TX. She was then brought on staff as their Recruitment and Outreach Coordinator where she was responsible for hiring and onboarding up to 106 AmeriCorps members annually. In 2018 she joined OneStar Foundation, the TX state service commission, as a Program Officer where she supported a portfolio of nine AmeriCorps programs across Texas in federal grant management, compliance, and led trainings around equitable recruitment and retention practices. Her deep experience in national service drew her to NPLA’s mission. Cristina grew up in Laredo, TX and graduated with an undergraduate degree in Vocal Performance and Mass Communications at Texas State University. With her deep passion for civic engagement and the arts, Cristina is one of the co-founders of San Antonio AmeriCorps Alums, a Voter Deputy Registrar, and Board President of One Ounce Opera. cristina@newpoliticsacademy.org
