Biography

Crys O'Grady, J.D., earned her bachelor’s degree in Sociology with an emphasis in poverty and inequality from Stanford University, and her Juris Doctor from the University of Washington School of Law. She is an enrolled member of the Monacan Indian Nation. After law school, she went on to work with the National Indian Child Welfare Association and worked on policy issues related to strengthening the implementation of the Indian Child Welfare Act of 1978 and then ran the Office of the Young Child for the City of Pasadena. Currently, Crys is a policy analyst and the Child Care and Development Fund Administrator for the State of Oregon. Crys believes that innovation in the public sector, and bold public leadership, is the pathway to creating a more just future.
