‍‍The leaders we need

‍‍are already here.

You've spent your career serving others. We think that's exactly the experience our politics is missing — and we'd like to show you why.

Maybe you served in the military or spent a year with AmeriCorps. Maybe you went overseas with the Peace Corps or stayed home to be a teacher, a first responder, or a social worker.

After working with thousands of servant leaders like you, New Politics Academy is here to say:

Your service wasn't a detour from politics.
It was preparation for it.

See what's possible

This might be for you if...

You've served your community or country

Through the military, AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, teaching, healthcare, social work, or nonprofit leadership — you know what it means to put others first.

You lead with integrity, not ego

You're motivated by impact, not status. You believe leadership is about stewardship — leaving things better than you found them.

You're frustrated by today's politics

Not disengaged — just disillusioned. You believe in democratic institutions, but you're tired of watching leaders who don't reflect your values.

You're curious, but uncertain

You've wondered what role you might play. Running for office? Staffing a campaign? Something else? You don't need all the answers yet.

Alumni Spotlights

They were where you are now.

Real servant leaders who found clarity, community, and the courage to step forward.

Phil Olaleye

State Representative, Georgia District 59

Phil grew up in a working-class family in Stone Mountain, Georgia, the son of immigrants. He worked at Waffle House and Best Buy as a teenager to help support his single mother. These childhood experiences cemented values of sacrifice, dignity in work, and the value of a quality education.

After working in the private sector to pay off college loans, Phil left to serve his country in the Peace Corps. Now as Executive Director of Next Generation Men & Women, Phil has grown a 50-student non-profit into one that serves almost 400 students across six Atlanta high schools and partners with 70 local colleges and companies

In 2022, Phil won his seat representing Georgia's 59th District

Lindsey Burke is a member of the Kentucky House of Representatives, representing District 75. Before entering public office, Burke was a social worker and not-for-profit attorney. She is an entrepreneurial problem-solver and proud AmeriCorps alumnus.

LISA FERET

State Representative, Colorado District 24

Lisa has been working for and with the community since she was a child – from local food banks to international humanitarian work. Her passion for helping others led her to join the military, where she served in the Air Force.

She then became a social worker and deployed often with Team Rubicon, an emergency and disaster response organization. Lisa pivoted towards public policy after seeing systemic barriers as a case manager. She has worked for the state of Colorado on Medicaid and housing policy.

She was sworn into the Colorado House of Representatives in January of 2025.
